Lane Daniels loves his job, working as a foreman on the south Texas ranch gives him the type of satisfaction he's always craved, but the owner of Crazy Hills ranch, Gresh Hamilton Miller the third, has woven his way under Lane's skin, leaving Lane crazy for the man's touch. But doing the boss is out of the question.
Gresh wants more from Lane than his ability to handle livestock, he wants it all. Lane won't give him the time of day so he forces the issue, setting up a date that Lane believes to be a business meeting. Alone together, Lane and Gresh ignite in a flash of passion.
Just when it feels like there could be something more between Lane and Gresh, the new doctor in town, Riley, sets his sights on Lane. Riley chases hard after him, insinuating himself in Lane's life, highlighting Gresh's faults. But Gresh won't give up without a fight. Will Lane and Gresh be able to survive the intrusion, or will Riley be the one walking away with Lane's heart?
More about the Texas Soul Series
Q - What makes the Texas Soul series different?
A – The story line for Lane and Gresh stretched the full six books. Their love is complicated and twisting, taking them from a simple love affair to a complex relationship that cements their love and ultimately makes them stronger.
Q – The men in the Texas Soul series, what are they like?
A – Crazy Hill's Ranch is the setting for the Texas Soul Series, dead in the center of Texas. The men are passionate about their cattle and ranch work, but they know how to cut loose and have fun. The guys were raised on hard work and good food, and know how to stage a practical joke. They are fun loving, dedicated, fiercely protective men who will stop at nothing to protect their own.
Q – Is there a theme to the stories?
A – The Texas Soul series is much like an American drama or family saga. The problems aren't easily solved in a quick little story, they run deep. From Gresh's father trying to manipulate their life, to some of the guys escaping troubled pasts, there's always something to keep life interesting. One of my favorite characters is Cookie, the ranch's cook. He may seem like a gruff old man, but he's really got a heart of gold. Family is important, and Cookie knows the men who work on the ranch are family.
Q – What is the most enjoyable part of the book?
A – The men of the Texas Soul series know how to come together to protect their own. It isn't a traditional hurt comfort series, but there is plenty of drama and angst to please.
